Japan-based Twitch streamer "CashMeow" caught the scary moment when a magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit the nation while he was in the middle of streaming.

With content creators spending hours a day in front of the camera non-stop, it's no surprise that some terrifying moments can be caught live and streamed in front of thousands of viewers. Some creators can find themselves in some scary situations while streaming outside, like "Reydempto" who was attacked while walking around Amsterdam. However, others can also find their safety compromised when working from home, like Alexandra "Alliestrasza" Macpherson who was swatted by police live on-air and "nalipls" who caught the horrific moment a stalker attacked her flat

For CashMeow, there was nowhere to go after a powerful earthquake hit north-east Japan as he was broadcasting his stream, leaving him shaken.

CashMeow Catches Powerful Earthquake Live On Stream

On March 15, CashMeow who has 35.7K followers on Twitch, was doing a livestream from his flat in Tokyo when he was suddenly interrupted by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale. The quake mainly hit the north-east area of the country, including Fukushima and Miyagi as it struck just off the coast of the two cities.

CashMeow didn't have long to recover from the quake as only a few minutes later, Tokyo was hit by an aftershock that violently shook the streamer's building. Filming the scene, CashMeow screamed: "This is huge, a big one [...] Be careful. F**king get under something. Take care of your sh*t."

Was CashMeow Injured From The Quake?

There were some fears that a quake of that scale would spark a tsunami. Although, the Japan Meteorological Agency later lifted its tsunami warnings for the coasts of Fukushima and Miyagi. Yet, according to the BBC, four people are reported to have died, 107 injured, and 2 million homes were left without power.

Neither CashMeow nor his partner was injured from the quake and it didn't appear to cause any major damage to their property. However, they were understandably unsettled by the experience.
