Despite his pretty adequate kit, Caustic is one of the most annoying characters in Apex Legends. The intoxicating Legend is one of the hardest characters to play against, especially on smaller maps and in Ranked playlists where teams tend to stay alive longer and endgames are more densely populated.

Despite being a joy to play with(mostly), Caustic is quite the pain to play against. This is why his new rise in popularity is infuriating for some Apex Legends players.

Caustic's rise in popularity has seen other defensive Legends fall off, with Bangalore, Newcastle, Revenant, and Catalyst all being the biggest droppers of the week.

Meanwhile, gamers are forming super-defensive squads, with Wattson also increasing, making any building a complete lockdown.

"If you’re playing Caustic on Control, just know I hate you and think you’re a loser," added another fan on Twitter. So, if you're seeing an influx of green smoke in Apex Legends right now, you know why and might be faced with the decision to fight fire with gas...
