One of the biggest question marks for Modern Warfare 3 was: how will the pre-existing MW2 maps, designed in 2009, play on the modern-day game modes?

While Domination and Team Deathmatch have been staple modes since the beginning of Call of Duty, there were no qualms that these remastered classics would be a joy to behold there, but how would modes like Hardpoint fare?

This question was certainly a hot topic for competitive fans who have learned to love Hardpoint and Control (modes which pre-date the remastered maps), and now it's clear to see that one iconic map has not been able to carry over its legacy into the new era.

Call of Duty players want Terminal removed from Competitive Playlists

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 Ranked release later this month, fans have called for Terminal to be axed from the competitive playlists seen in the Call of Duty League.

Taking to Reddit, one fan has said in a popular post, "Is there any chance terminal hardpoint is removed from CDL after major 1?"

"I genuinely don’t want to play that map, it’s easily one of the worst hardpoint maps of all time," added the Reddit poster.

Any changes would have to come to MW3 after the CDL Major 1, as there will be no changes to the pool halfway through a competitive split, but this would coincide, roughly, with MW3 Season 2.

Still, fans have continued to pile on the hate for Terminal - a map once adored by everyone.

Terminal dubbed as 'the worst map of all time' for Hardpoint

Having been dubbed as the worst Hardpoint map ever seen in competitive play, other fans have continued the Terminal slander, reiterating that it's a pubs map and nothing else.

"It's actually terrible. I like the map for just casual pub play like a Dom maybe but it's terrible for HP, especially in comp," one fan added.

Others argued that it can stay for Search and Destroy, but for Hardpoint, it's got to go.

"I absolutely hate how terminal plays and even invasion can be kind of lame at times," added a third.

Previously, Atlanta FaZe's Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris claimed that the new Modern Warfare 3 map Greece will likely be entering the map pool, at some point, as a Hardpoint map, taking over from either Terminal or Highrise. Two more maps are also likely to be released soon, which could see the Harpoint pool altered even further.
