Pokemon fans will already know that the Stellar Crown expansion for the Pokemon TCG is coming on September 13, and The Pokemon Company were kind enough to let GGRecon reveal a trio of cards for the set.

The Paldea Region is in focus this time around, and we've got the exclusive first look at Applin, Dipplin, and Hydrapple ex. While these cards have been revealed for Japan, this is the first chance to see the English versions.

New card reveals for Stellar Crown

Kicking off with Pokemon number 840, the adorable Applin (12/142) is a grass-type with a single attack and 40 HP. That may not make it a heavy hitter, but its low energy cost makes it easy to start swinging with. I love the art from Yoriyuki Ikegami, showing those delicious red apples and then our little Applin just hanging nearby.

Regular visitors to Paldea will know Applin evolves into Dipplin, and the middle evolution (13/142) is a goofy-looking Candy Apple Pokemon. With 90HP and a move that prevents an attack from Basic Pokemon, it could be an ideal way to ramp up quickly.

If you look carefully at Souichirou Gunjima's artwork you can see the tail showing it starting to grow into Hydrapple.

Speaking of Hydrapple, the ex version (167/142) we've got here looks almost as if it's been painted onto a wall. The full art from Teeziro captures the silliness of the apple-based Hydra design.

Ability-wise, it can attach green energy from your hand to Pokemon and heal them at the same time, which then buffs its Syrup Storm attack which deals 30 damage per green energy attached to your Pokemon.

The Pokemon TCG: Stellar Crown set arrives on September 13, but you can start playing with new cards the day before on September 12 in the Pokemon TCG Live app.
