We all love a good freebie, and after a decade of shelling out on Shark Cards, we think us Grand Theft Auto fans are more than deserving of a reward. While there are wild reports that GTA 6 could have an eye-watering $150 price tag, at least you should be able to scrape back a few pennies in other corners of San Andreas.

Although Rockstar has dabbled in the realms of mobile gaming before, it's largely failed to cash in on the potential of its impressive back catalogue. Now, there are hints that the GTA+ subscription could be about to come with the added bonus of some free mobile games

GTA+ hints at free mobile games

Much like buying a battle pass for Fortnite or Warzone, GTA+ has a monthly price of around $5.99/£4.99, giving subscribers a few perks. It's largely tied to GTA Online and gives players bonuses like cosmetics, although there are permanent rewards like extra money when buying Shark Cards or bonus GTA$ every month.

As we've seen from Microsoft's Game Pass or Nintendo Switch Online giving gamers access to classic titles, there's a lot of love for retro gaming. Eagle-eyed players have spotted that Rockstar has added the Apple iOS logo to the GTA+ web page, as well as references to mobile games in its description.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out this likely points to the integration of mobile games to the service, although it's unclear whether/why Android players would be locked out - after all, everything from May Payne to Bully: Anniversary Edition have previously been available on Android.

What mobile Rockstar Games titles could be part of GTA+?

Bully Anniversary Edition iOS

Even though we tend to associate GTA with console and PC, there are are a surprising amount of titles that have made the leap to mobile. Like we said, others like Max Payne and Bully have also had mobile ports (of varying success).

We know the maligned GTA Trilogy is coming free as part of the GTA+ overhaul, and alongside it, the proposed Android and iOS versions make sense...if we ever see them. Other popular rereleases would be GTA: Chinatown Wars and GTA: Liberty City Stories, but let's hope this isn't just Grand Theft Auto: iFruit.

Much like how we'd lose access to the GTA Trilogy if we cancel out GTA+ subscription, you'll have to keep paying to play. With the future of mobile gaming seemingly here with the iPhone 15 Pro, it looks like GTA+ is yet another monthly subscription we're going to have to pay for.
