With Modern Warfare 3 just around the corner, Beta players have been given access to their childhood playgrounds, with the 2009 map pool back in full swing.
But as the debate as old as Call of Duty itself rings, are these OG Modern Warfare 2 maps better than those seen in the iconic Black Ops 2?
Those two titles have always gone head to head for the crown as the best Call of Duty game ever, and now new leaks look to rip that debate wide open, as Call of Duty 2024 is reportedly bringing back some rather unorthodox Black Ops 2 maps.
Leaks suggest Call of Duty 2024 has two Black Ops remasters
Call of Duty 2024 is supposed to carry on from the Cold War, with a Gulf War setting this time around. Treyarch's Black Ops series is in for another instalment, and it looks like it will already have an influence from the classic titles in the series.
The rebooted Black Ops series is now set to give us WMD and Grind according to Call of Duty leaker "CoDPerseus".
Both of these maps were in early Black Ops games, with WMD also appearing in Cold War, while Grind was brought back into the fray during Black Ops 4.
Call of Duty is carrying on its nostalgia hunt with Black Ops 2024
Other leaks have already suggested that Treyarch is set to have a two-year stint with CoD 2024 and 2025, similar to how Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have operated with back-to-back Modern Warfare games.
The latter of Treyarch's upcoming games is also supposed to be a Black Ops throwback, with the entire map pool of Black Ops 2 supposedly coming.
In the meantime though, CoD 2024 might have some more throwbacks on show too, with a deep pool of original designs yet to have been revisited from Black Ops 1, such as Grid, Villa, and Radiation.
