Modern Warfare 3 is set to hit fans with a wave of nostalgia, bringing the classic Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps in remastered form, the iconic ACR, and slide-canceling.
All this has come together to create a huge amount of excitement for November 10, and while some fans have criticised Sledgehammer for recycling too many old ideas, others want them to take even more from the OG vault.
This time, players aren't clamouring for a classic gameplay feature, it's actually related to customisation. While more limited back in the days of MW2 (2009), some members of the CoD community want the iconic Calling Cards back.
MW3 fans want MW2 (2009) Calling Cards back
Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user SaviD_Official revealed that they "miss the OG Calling Cards every day," as, in their opinion, they had so much more personality.
Other users in the thread agreed, arguing that Calling Cards back in MW2 (2009) allowed you to show off your achievements. They were a reason to grind out multiple killstreaks, as the Calling Cards and emblems were iconic and sought-after.
"Back when calling cards felt like they meant something," said one user, with another saying, "I really miss when everything was unlocked for actually achieving things in the game, In MW2 (2009) you could see a player's emblem and title and know something about their play."
For them, the current Calling Cards have been "diluted" by store bundles, and as a result, they've lost their meaning and significance.
CoD fans also want classic Prestige from MW2 (2009)

All this chat about classic features obviously led to the prestige system, something CoD fans have been desperate to see return for years.
"Yes! This and classic prestige, should've never left COD," said one user, with another arguing "Classic prestige was the best, still don't get why that's gone."
While neither of these will make a return in MW3, it's possible that CoD devs will look to capitalise on nostalgia again in the future, and these could be the perfect options.
However, they have to strike a balance between bringing back old features and introducing new additions, or run the risk of being criticised for recycling content.
