The Call of Duty series isn't afraid to go wild with its blueprint designs, with futuristic animations that would make any FPS fan's jaw drop.

However, it's not very often a MW3 gun skin is labelled as bizarre, but that's exactly what happened with the Renetti 'Incision' blueprint.

The weapon's phallic appearance and skin-like camo that even featured red veins was more than a little strange. Despite this, it gained somewhat of a fan base within the community, with countless competitors using it in multiplayer.

Well, those days are now long gone, as the devs decided to change Incision in Season 2 Reloaded and players are not happy.

The iconic Incision blueprint is no more. Well, the version players came to know and love has done anyway, as those who logged on after the update realised the skin is now purple with green detailing.

This has led to immense frustration on the ModernWarfareIII subreddit from the community, who don't understand why Activision felt the need to alter the design.

"That’s a shame, despite the jokes it is legitimately an interesting blueprint," said one user, with another arguing, "Wtf why? It was the only good unique blueprint in the pass lmao, now it's just a plain-looking purple trash thing we'll never put on."

While it wasn't the flashiest blueprint and was undoubtedly a joke for players to poke fun at, its unique design had become treasured by many fans. Although the devs have explained why it was altered, their reasoning doesn't appear to add up.

Why did Call of Duty decide to change the Renetti Blueprint?

In the Season 2 Reloaded patch notes, it's revealed that the devs have "adjusted colours of the Incision Blueprint for the Renetti to match its intended appearance."

This suggests it was a bug causing the skin to look strange in-game which a lot of players simply refuse to believe is true, accusing the devs of "lying."

"Original can’t be just a result of an unintentional glitch right? It had to be an excuse to change a consciously made design," said one user, with someone else concluding, "It's definitely them lying/making an excuse."

Whatever the reasoning, Incision as we know it is gone, and it's very unlikely the developers will bring it back in its original form anytime soon.
