While gunplay will always be the most important part of Warzone 2, audio is another crucial aspect of the game that has to be perfect.

Unfortunately, since the release of the battle royale, the community has complained about the inconsistency of sound - making it impossible to track the movement of an opponent.

This is key because it's not always possible to see a foe, especially if you're in an enclosed space. As a result, skilled players will often use footstep audio to predict when an enemy is going to step into their line of sight.

Well, according to some members of the WZ2 community, this is almost impossible as the game has the 'worst footstep audio in gaming history.'

Warzone 2 players flame 'worst footstep audio in gaming'

Anyone who doesn't think this is the worst footstep audio in gaming history is delusional. Embarrassing that a game of this caliber even considered a ranked mode.

Taking to the CODWarzone subreddit, user Klubhead decided to share a clip of them being shot from behind by an enemy who managed to run up to them while generating no footstep audio.

After this experience, the frustrated fan sparked a discussion by claiming that Warzone 2 has the "worst footstep audio in gaming history," adding that anyone that who doesn't agree is "delusional."

Well, a lot of fans agreed with Klubhead's statement, arguing "this game's audio is a full-on embarrassment" and a "complete joke" at times.

Another even made a comparison to PUBG, claiming that it's "sad that PUBG has insanely superior audio and gunshots too."

During the discussion around WZ2's audio in the thread, the conversation took a turn when a player claimed that "WZ1's audio was A+ compared to what we have now."

According to users, "at least you knew when an enemy was stomping around in your building, even if the direction was completely unknown."

It's interesting to see that the community thinks the sound has worse in the sequel when it was also a major point of backlash in the previous game. For now, we'll just have to wait and see whether the devs introduce any audio improvements in Season 4.
