Call of Duty players are concerned Modern Warfare 3 will 'die' because of rampant shadowbans and spam reports.

The Modern Warfare 3 Beta reignited a lot of the community's love for the franchise, and the hype is truly at an all-time high for the game's November 10 release.

The wave of nostalgia from playing on the remastered Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps and picking up the iconic ACR has given fans hope that MW3 may have a bright future ahead.

However, serious problems in MW2 that remain unfixed have players extremely concerned, especially when it comes to rampant shadowbans.

Spam reporting is still a major issue and heading into MW3, there's no sign that the devs have found a solution. Innocent competitors are still banned on a regular basis and the community are convinced MW3 will "die" if it isn't addressed.

CoD streamer shadowbanned live for using minimap & UAV

During a recent MW2 match, Call of Duty streamer Stract was popping off and absolutely dominating the competition in multiplayer.

After taking out three enemies in a row, Stract noticed an opponent hidden behind a door in a building after checking his minimap. The enemy's position was completely exposed as Stract and his team had a UAV active.

Making short work of the foe, Stract fired through the door and instantly killed them. However, the streamer immediately got worried that he was about to get shadowbanned, saying to his chat "I'm gonna get reported, my screen's gonna go black and say disconnected from server bro watch."

Seconds later, Stract was shadowbanned and kicked the match, presumably because the opponent's spam reported him.

CoD fans think MW3 will "die" if spam reports are not fixed

Posting this to Twitter, Stract argued that MW3 is destined to "die" if Sledgehammer cannot come up with a solution to this issue.

Other Call of Duty fans agreed, arguing there shouldn't be an automatic ban handed just because you've been spam-reported, as it makes the system too easy to abuse.

"Players should not be able to have the power to get others banned," said one user, with another arguing "Yeh can imagine if they keep this system on MWIII, especially with the better movement, then the game won’t last long at all."

The RICOCHET anti-cheat may be receiving improvements for MW3, but unless it fixes the rampant shadowbanning, the community's love for Modern Warfare 3 will fade in an instant.
