While the Warzone community enjoys diving down onto Al Mazrah, it has never managed to reach the heights of the iconic Verdansk.

Although that may seem like an impossible task, leaks suggest that the devs have exactly that in mind when it comes to the new battle royale map scheduled to arrive in December.

Glimpses from the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer trailer have indicated the location will have a Verdansk-style urban setting and buildings, which has got fans extremely excited.

Not only that, eagle-eyed CoD players have spotted an iconic location from Call of Duty 4, that appears to be part of the new Warzone map.

Call of Duty 4's Countdown spotted in new Warzone map

As showcased by TheGhostOfHope on Twitter, a snapshot of the MW3 trailer appears to show a birds-eye view of Countdown from Call of Duty 4.

This wouldn't be the first time the Warzone devs have included OG locations as part of a bigger map, giving fans a huge hit of nostalgia when they run through the area.

The new version of Countdown is certainly more active than it was in the past, with rockets launching into the air and smoke covering the area. This could make for some brilliant encounters and an amazing backdrop for an intense skirmish.

Some fans have pointed out that this could just be part of the War Mode maps and not Warzone. However, it's expected that the War Mode maps will be made up of smaller sections of the overall new Warzone map.

MW3 leak reveals Countdown could be multiplayer map

A leak from uwuleaker99 has also indicated that Countdown may come as a multilayer map at a later date, or at least a version of the location.

Renamed Orlov Military Base instead of Countdown, the area appears to be a reimagined version of the OG map and has been found in the files. It's impossible to know when this will be added to MW3, but it could be planned as seasonal content following the game's release on November 10.
