As far as Call of Duty Zombies achievements go, this is one of the most spectacular ones that we've ever seen. For the most part, Zombies maps have extraordinary round counts, with the likes of the original four World at War ones reaching the thousands.

But as Call of the Dead remains the hardest map ever made, it's an outlier here. It took one player a massive 61 hours to do the "impossible" and reach Round 100. It's a jaw-dropping feat that many of us had long given up on achieving.

Zombies player reaches record-high round on Call of the Dead

As a kid, reaching Round 100 on any Zombies map was one hell of an achievement. It involved endless hours of grinding, and only the top-calibre players could get there on Shi No Numa and Der Riese.

But nobody has legitimately reached Round 100 on Call of the Dead until April 3, 2024. To put it into context, that's some 13 years after it was released.

Twitch streamer "PromptTheStealthPatcher", or "Prompt" for short, has managed to hit the milestone in a massive grind. Better yet, he continued on to Round 105 before dying 30 minutes before the scheduled reset.

How did they do it?

Call of the Dead is so brutal because there is a severe lack of Wonder Weapons to exploit and take advantage of, and there are few areas where you can really gather zombies to take down in one swoop to reserve ammunition. Instead, Prompt used his ingenuity to deploy the despawning technique.

This comes into play when the zombies practically starve to death, combined with select waves of kills to complete 100 rounds of action before the timer runs out. Like others, the Call of the Dead map has a clock of when it will start over, somewhere around the 65-hour mark.

It only took 13 years, millions of attempts, trillions of random box openings, and a partridge in a pear tree, but the impossible Call of the Dead record has finally been broken.
