With a pick rate of just 1.5% according to Apex Legends Status, Crypto may not be the most popular character in Apex Legends, but he has a dedicated group of mains who love his kit.

These Surveillance Expert fans adore his Heirloom even more, with it being one of the most impressive mythics in the entire collection.

His Biwon Blade has absolutely incredible animations that are satisfying to watch and look amazing in-game while rotating around a map. According to a set of leaks, his sword may be getting a recolour upgrade in the future and fans are excited.

Apex Legends leak hints Crypto Heirloom recolour is coming

Reliable Apex Legends leaker HYPERMYST has revealed that Crypto's Heirloom is scheduled to receive a recolour.

His Biwon Blade will be able to transform into the Durumi Blade which will sport a blue and white theme instead of his trademark neon green. It also features a set of impressive patterns along the edge of the blade, as well as dark red detailing.

For now, HYPERMYST has made it clear there is currently no release date for the Heirloom in the game's files. However, it is tied to the Lunar New Year Event which is set to arrive in early February, so this may be when Respawn will roll it out to fans.

Will Crypto's recolour come with new animations?

A recolour is brilliant, but the most important aspect of an Heirloom to fans will always be the animations. So, does the Durumi Blade have any new interactions we know of so far?

Unfortunately, HYPERMYST has revealed the Heirloom has no new inspect animations but does have some running and crouch interactions that look different.

We'll have to see if this is a fresh enough take on the Biwon Blade for Crypto fans to bite, but given how clean it looks, we're guessing it's going to be popular.
