Unfortunately for the gaming world, Cyberpunk 2077 was a catastrophe when it first launched. While it was patched to live up to its promise, the original hype and massive letdown cheesed many players off beyond return.

But maybe, there's still hope that Cyberpunk 2077 could one day recapture the futuristic essence that drove such excitement. All it would take is some good old modding expertise to pick up where the developers fell off...

Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting A HD Makeover

With a large part of Cyberpunk's misery coming down to graphic glitches and game-breaking bugs, the sci-fi shooter has needed post-launch surgery. Now, one modder is bringing forward their previous web wizardry by giving the game a facelift.

The modder known as Halk Hogan has confirmed that their mod for a Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project is ready and will be launched on March 12th.

The modder became synonymous with their work on The Witcher 3 HD project, which has driven up expectations that this Cyberpunk 2077 mod can gloss over (or highlight) the cracks in CD Projekt Red's other big release.

We only just got the new-gen Cyberpunk 2077 release for Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 in February 2022, and with the Phantom Liberty DLC also on the way, the title isn't going anywhere just yet.

Cyberpunk 2077 HD Mod Comes Out In March

From the pre-release teaser video from Halk Hogan, it's clear to see that the HD graphic upgrades will be looking to focus on each and every minor detail in the Cyberpunk 2077 surroundings.

From defining the floor patterns to bringing nature into the high-definition worlds, the Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Mod makes everything seem much more realistic. The HD texture pack will really give Night City the makeover it needed upon launch.

It's not yet known how the HD upgrade for Cyberpunk will affect people and characters within the game, with facial and bodily features are usually difficult to overhaul, but all will be revealed when the mod goes live on March 12.

With an upcoming Phantom Liberty DLC planned to come soon, and the prospect of a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, this might be the push you need to fall in love with CD Projekt Red's troubled child after all.
