Cyberpunk 2077 has been out for a little while now, and thankfully, CD PROJEKT RED has managed to tidy it up a bit. Thank god for that. The game was a catastrophe of magnificent proportions at launch, rivalling No Man's Sky and Fallout 76 for the crown of the worst video game launch in history.
The game's new-gen upgrade and bug fixes have been praised heavily, keeping the game intact and finally making it playable for many. Nothing like the bare minimum, right? As more players are finally able to actually play the game, they're really digging into the secrets that the RPG hides - and there's one that still hasn't been solved.
Cyberpunk Mystery Still Goes Unsolved
One of the biggest mysteries in the universe of Cyberpunk 2077 remains unsolved, and players are still clamouring to figure it out. So much so, there's a dedicated community with its own mind map you can fall down a rabbit hole for. With codes, colours, and the cultish worshipping of statues, we're as stumped as you are.
As first pointed out by Kotaku, the curious questions asked by the code FF:06:B5 have still been unanswered. The code sits on a screen that is part of a statue in the centre of Night City, and theories and assumptions about its origin it have all been met with a brick wall. Nobody knows what it means, but even two years on from the game's release, there's a loyal following determined to crack the code.
This all revolves around a statue at the roundabout near the Corpo Plaza apartment. It's known among these hunters as FF:06:B5 Prime "D3" statue, which is multi-armed, holding a giant sword in two and a sphere in one on the left. The sequence on the front and forking symbols remains unsolved, however, some think it relates to V's lifepaths. The statue reappears in multiple locations, while miniature versions pop up in the recently-added apartments.
There's A Subreddit Dedicated To Solving CyberPunk's Biggest Mystery
The fascination with FF:06:B5 has grown to such a degree that players have converged on an entire subreddit to solve the so-called "Magenta Mystery". The subreddit is simply called FF06B5 and has a whopping initial post that details the community's goals. The name comes from the fact that when you type FF:06:B5 into an HTML hex colour code, it's "shocking pink." If you don't believe us, Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko even said it's a mystery worth looking into.
Things get weirder, as the monks that gather around the Prime statue can be heard chanting: "My apprentice! Your throat chakra is blocked! Activate the meridians on the roof of your mouth." If you want to join the Magenta Mystery, there's an extensive list of rules in order to streamline the process of digging up the mystery. Who knows when (or if) we'll get an answer, but at least we know there's an army doing all the heavy lifting for us. We just hope it's worth the agony.
