2022 is a big year for Dead by Daylight, as Behaviour Interactive's asymmetrical horror celebrates six years of slaughter. Alongside all the usual updates and crossovers, the franchise will continue its killing spree by expanding into the world of dating sims. Safe to say, the brilliantly named Hooked on You already has us hooked.

For anyone who hasn't played Dead by Daylight, you take on the role of either a Survivor or Killer. Alongside a colourful cast of original characters, the real pull has been the various DLC that have kept DbD fresh with pop culture crossovers. Bringing everything from Resident Evil to Silent Hill into this nightmarish world, horror icons like Freddy, Jason, and Michael have been carving a new legacy.

What Does The Dead By Daylight Dating Sim Trailer Reveal?

We previously claimed Dead by Daylight could be getting a dating sim, but until recently, there was no concrete evidence. During a special anniversary livestream, Behaviour showed off Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylighting Dating Sim. It's developed by Psyop, who you might remember for the equally out-there I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator.

Hooked on You includes "romance, steamy references and... shirtless outfits." Currently, it lets you romance four original Dead by Daylight creations, with The Huntress, The Spirit, The Trapper, and The Wraith looking to find love. In classic dating sim style, all of them are getting an adorable anime makeover. Should adorable and serial killer really go in the same sentence? Well, maybe if it's Chucky.

Even though it might sound like a baffling concept on paper, merging our love of horror and dating sims is a frankly brilliant brainwave. Hooked on You is coming to Steam this Summer, so you shouldn't have long to wait. If it's a hit, let's hope famous faces from the world of horror movies also make the jump, because come on, who wouldn't want to try and woo Ghostface?

What Else Is Coming To Dead By Daylight?

Fans were equally sold on the idea of a DbD dating sim. One gushed, "Seeing these killer’s designs for this game is crazy. I’m down for this funny & cute DBD spin-off game," while another cheered, "This is pretty f*****g legit. Thank you for exploring the more fun chill side of the fog." A third simply asked, "How saucy are the developers willing to go?"

As Dead by Daylight gallops toward its anniversary on June 14, Behaviour Interactive announced what's on the way next. Alongside a second crossover with Resident Evil, "Project W" looks destined to bring Albert Wesker along for the ride. There's also a new original chapter called "Roots of Dread", and an Attack on Titan collaboration. Well, if it's good enough for Call of Duty. Either way, Dead by Daylight is far from dead right now.
