Something is going bump in the night, and while Dead by Daylight has plenty of nasties hanging out in the void, some clunking creatures are about to make their mark on the horror series in a big way. While we're still yet to see horror favourites like Candyman and Pennywise give us nightmares, we're finally getting Five Nights at Freddy's.

ScottGames has promised a big month of announcements to celebrate 10 years of Freddy Fazbear, and while many of us were convinced we'd see those mechanical menaces pop up in Fortnite, we now know Behaviour Interactive is set to let the blood flow with a Dead by Daylight x Five Nights at Freddy's collab.

Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to Dead by Daylight

We've been asking for Five Nights at Freddy's to land in DbD for years, and with the asymmetrical horror perfectly lending it to the idea of being hunted around some haunted locale by murderous robots, we're surprised it took this long. Unfortunately, it's going to take a little longer.

Although gamers are buzzing that FNaF is coming to DbD, there's the added caveat that we'll have to wait until 2025. While this takes some of the shine off the announcement, it's a shrewd move from both sides because next year is when Emma Tammi's Five Nights at Freddy's live-action sequel will hit cinemas.

Aside from the lengthy wait, others were simply unimpressed that this was the big announcement ScottGames had promised. Despite DbD fans winning this one, Fortnite fans are taking to the comments to brand this an L. One disgruntled gamer wrote, "We lost so bad."

Another added, "F**k off bro, we wanted Fortnite😭 like it's f**king summer 2025, why the f**k would you announce it now?" and a third said, "This timeline is cooked. We literally live in the bad ending of the universe." We understand that ScottGames wants to celebrate Freddy's anniversary, but there's a definitely feeling we've been dangled a carrot here.

At least we can pencil Five Nights at Freddy's in for 2025, and in the meantime, Dead by Daylight is sure to add some more frightening faces to the mix. Castlevania is coming to the game today (August 6), and you don't have to look far to find players' wishlist of collabs they'd love to see. Freddy is coming, but we might need some WD-40 to get him here quicker.
