Dead By Daylight Survey Teases Pennywise

Even eight years after Dead by Daylight first launched, Behaviour Interactive shows no signs of slowing down. While the asymmetric horror has its own unique lore with original characters, let's be honest: most of you are playing for its rogue's gallery of horror legends.

The greats like Freddy, Jason, and Michael have all made their mark, while newer additions to the bloodbath include colabs with Alien, Child's Play, and Castlevania. There are still some MIA monsters, with fans regularly championing their favourite frights to the devs.

Dead by Daylight finally teases Pennywise's arrival

Among all the occult offerings Dead by Daylight is yet to make, Pennywise the Dancing Clown is one of the most popular. Even though Behaviour Interactive missed out on cashing in on the hype of Andy Muschietti's It remake(s), a tie-in with the upcoming Welcome to Derry series could be the perfect place for Pennywise.

More than just some fanciful dreaming from horror hounds, a new Dead by Daylight survey has hinted that Pennywise could be clawing his way out of the sewer and into The Void. Over on X, a recent player survey has appeared, with Behaviour Interactive asking which IPs you'd like to see in the future.

As well as Pennywise making the cut, there's the mention of TV shows like American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, and Charmed, movies ranging from Ghostbusters to Jurassic Park and Terrifier, and video games including Elden Ring and Mortal Kombat.

Other notable additions include the Predator, which would follow nicely in the Xenomorph's footsteps, as well as M3GAN to add that demonic doll to the mix. Importantly, the survey proves the well of ideas is far from dry. Even then, we're disappointed that there's no mention of a Candyman crossover.

There are some admittedly weird mentions in the survey, and although we'd love a Metal Gear collab, we're not sure how the Teletubbies fit into things. Considering there have been some out-there reimaginings of beloved childhood classics for horror, it would undoubtedly be interesting to see a nightmarish version of Tinky-Winky.

Of course, a survey is far from confirmation any of the above are on the way, or if they are, when they could arrive. Ahead of the upcoming Five Night at Freddy's crossover, the IP was similarly teased by a survey, so you never know. After Behaviour pulled the plug on its PvE spin-off called Project T, DbD remains a major focus, so expect there to be plenty of life in the corpse.
