Palworld Is Coming To PS5

Nintendo might be coming for Palworld, but that won't be getting in the way of Sony. After rumours of a surprise PS5 release started doing the rounds, the September 24 State of Play confirmed it's going live today.

Since its release in January 2024, only PC and Xbox owners have been able to enjoy 'Pokemon with guns', but now, everyone can join in the fun...for now. Could Palworld really be Pocketpair's second game that never makes it out of early access?

Palworld is getting a PS5 release despite legal troubles

Palworld has been grabbing headlines thanks to Nintendo's claims that it's infringed on multiple patents. This doesn't seem to be bothering Sony, which is powering ahead with Palworld's imminent release on the PS5. As of September 24, Palworld is officially landing on the PS5.

While numbers have dipped substantially since Palworld was breaking Steam records, there's still a substantial player count that's expected to boom with the Sony crown thrown into the mix. Even though that's all well and good, the future of the game remains unclear.

Recent reports claim that even if Palworld somehow escapes being completely pulled from sale, it might have to drastically alter how it works and maybe even lose its monster-catching mechanics. If you're a PS5 owner, you might want to make the most of playing Palworld while you can.
