Destiny 2's latest expansion, The Final Shape, is a celebration of everything to do with Bungie's long-running loot shooter.
Between the return of Cayde-6, throwbacks to our first resurrection with Ghost, and the return of Khvostov, it's a big love letter, but there's now a new way you can wander through The Tower, the game's social space.
Rec Room lets you explore the Destiny Tower
Bungie has partnered with popular user-generated content app Rec Room to produce a new Destiny experience called Guardian Gauntlet.
Players can step into the Tower and walk through it as a Hunter (Warlock and Titan cosmetics will come in the next few weeks), and use multiple iconic Destiny weapons in a shooting gallery - including Ace of Spades, Izanaghi's Burden, and more.
Players can even see familiar vendors, including the trusty Sweeper Bot, and the experience is available from today on mobile, PC, or VR.
In a press release, Rec Room said:
"Starting today, Rec Room players will have the opportunity to explore a meticulously recreated version of the iconic Destiny Tower. This legendary hub from the Destiny universe has been brought to life with stunning details, offering players an authentic experience whether they’re on VR, console, PC, or mobile platforms."
If this taste of Destiny 2's universe has you intrigued, be sure to check out our rundown of the game's DLC expansions, as well as our review of The Final Shape where we said:
"The Final Shape is Destiny 2's peak. It’s not only the game's best expansion, but one that celebrates all those that came before in a way that feels earned, and could only be achieved by a commitment to a live-service game for a decade."
"New Guardians may have plenty of questions as to what’s going on, but if you’ve spent any time with the franchise in the past, this is worth coming back for - the Final Shape is the new gold standard for Destiny."
