Destiny 2's Final Shape launched this week, intended to close out the "Light and Darkness" saga that began with the first game in 2014.

While the campaign features a whole host of missions (and introduces the new Prismatic subclass), for many the peak of Destiny is in its Raid content. Now, the latest addition, Salvation's Edge, has finally been beaten by team Parabellum to claim the World's First Clear title.

Destiny 2 team clears Salvation's Edge

As confirmed by Bungie on X (formerly Twitter), a team beat the Salvation's Edge Raid. While we're still waiting for the clear time, the Raid is the longest Day 1 event in Destiny history, eclipsing the almost 19-hour runtime of The Last Wish when Forsaken debuted in 2019 (thanks, The Game Post).

The completion of the latest Raid has triggered a series of events within the game, too. Players have reported earthquakes on Nessus, while a new 12-player activity called Excision has arrived for all.

The campaign is also complete now, as Bungie had been holding back the final mission until the Raid was beaten, meaning Guardians can now get the conclusion they've waited a decade for as part of a story-focused Excision mission.

In a further surprise, Bungie has revealed a new showcase on June 10 (that's Tuesday) at 8 AM PT/4 PM BST.

In another post on X (formerly Twitter), the Destiny 2 account said "It all begins with a single step."

"Join us on June 10 at 8AM PT to learn about the next year of Destiny 2."

It seems deliberately worded enough to head off speculation that Destiny 3 could be revealed, although leaks have suggested it is in development. Still, expect the event to focus on Episodes, Destiny 2's new story arcs that will replace the seasons we've had for several years.

Whatever is announced, you'll find out about it here.
