Oh that bloody Bitc- oh, Butcher. The Butcher is Diablo 4's most fearsome foe, and coming across the demon is a one-way ticket to hell. Or in this case, out of hell and back to the loading screen.
Spawning sporadically in dungeons throughout the game, the Butcher is obliterating everyone in Diablo 4, as the demon comes well-equipped to take down under-prepared low-level players, and even adequate mid-tier players who haven't quite mastered the art of evading the Grim Reaper's grasp.
But maybe the meathead isn't so full of protein as we first thought, as underneath that well-done exterior is quite a fluffy boi who is more than killable.
Diablo player uncovers the secret tip to beat The Butcher
In true Anakin Skywalker fashion, it seems like even the most fearsome bad guys can't operate on the high ground. That's right, the way to easily beat the Butcher in Diablo 4 is by getting some height.
Reddit user "atay47" found that for all of the Butcher's strength, he's not the best climber in the world, and nor can he muster up the leg power to elevate his weight off the ground with a jump.
This means that if you find yourself in a dungeon with this beast, a ladder can be your best friend. The Redditor showed themselves climbing to the high ground and using their Sorcerer's ice shards to blast the level 82 foe into freezing oblivion - before dropping the lucrative rewards for beating them.

While many players decorated the post in "Thank you" messages, others felt more compelled to give the original poster some more applause. "As a Barb that finally beat him on the third attempt... I toast you with a glass of wine," said one fan.
Other players noticed that the player's build was essential too though, as stationary mobs will de-spawn after a short time, meaning you're on the clock to defeat the Butcher from the high ground, It means having more mana is essential, as the player recommended Lucky Hit and Avalanche.
So, if you do come across the beefy maneater, maybe get out of his reach as quickly as possible and unload hell from above. Either way, the Butcher ain't so tough anymore.
