Disney Dreamlight Valley might not have stuck with everybody, but damn, it's found a good way to rope in the House of Mouse obsessives. We knew from the offset that Disney adults would gobble Dreamlight Valley down like whatever trademarked slop they serve up at Disney parks.

Still, its infectious gameplay and combination of life-sim elements and recognisable characters has kept fans hooked like we couldn't have predicted. If only Disney Speedstorm could keep on top of players like this, then the video game market from the Disney perspective would be cornered.

But, there are some pretty glaring issues with the title that fans are starting to point out - and it all comes down to the preying microtransactions. As it always seems to.

Fans are horrified by Dreamlight Valley's DLC pricing

Here we go again...microtransactions. Players have taken to Reddit to point out just how pricey Disney Dreamlight Valley's microtransactions are when compared to The Sims 4, and it has sparked a pretty massive debate about the state of the game.

The original Reddit post that brought the conversation to life was one that compared a $9.99 stuff pack's content to a Dreamlight Valley shop costume for Scrooge McDuck, which comes to $8.99 in total.

This is pretty selective as EA likes to consider its Stuff Packs as complete DLC, but it's still pretty illuminating to the direction that microtransactions have taken. Scrooge McDuck has little in-game function, meaning we're swapping hard-earned cash for mere cosmetics.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has a problem with Microtransactions

The DDV community has rallied in the comments, decrying the game's microtransactions. "Yep as someone who also plays The Sims, I am surprised that the DLC for this game manages to make kits look good and I've hated kits since they were introduced," says one commenter.

"At these prices, they should be giving entire sets of furniture or clothing, not just like 3 items or one outfit for a single character." Another added, "And this right here is why I won't be spending a penny more on this game until they get their s**t together."

It's clear that fans are upset about the practice - but if you're going to stand up to Mickey himself, you're going to need an army. It's time for Dreamlight Valley fans to rally.
