People are getting all sorts of weird things in their trick-or-treat hauls over the years. I once knocked on that house in the street and the silver-bearded man placed a Bratwurst in my pumpkin-decorated goodie bag alongside my Milky Ways and Mars bars...
But one surprise that I wouldn't mind finding in this year's goodie bunch is a Milky Way that has the power to run games - that's a treat that won't leave a sick taste in your belly, nor compliment a hot dog bun like the Bratwurst of '07.
This year, games are coming in snacks, as for Halloween, one technology company has made a Milky Way that supports Doom.
Doom Is Running In Your Halloween Treats
After you've knocked on every door in your neighbourhood, you might want to keep an eye out for any Milky Ways, as hardware manufacturer Adafruit has designed a bar with Doom running on it.
"Please carefully inspect your kids’ Halloween candy! We found Doom running inside this Milky Way bar," the developers said, before showing off their design which looks as edible as a normal bar, except for the screen.
It's not the first time that Doom has found its way onto a bizarre screen, given that we've also seen it played on pregnancy tests and Lego. We've also covered how you can play Doom on a McDonald's kiosk or even play Doom inside Doom - wild, we know
Check your Halloween Candy this year!
Of course, you'll get quite a surprise if you decide to sink your teeth into the Doom candy bar, given that it's made of plastic and wires rather than chocolate and soft caramel.
However, it's highly unlikely that your October frights will end in an electric shock, as the New York-based tech gurus don't appear to be selling the Doom Milky Way as a gimmick in their Halloweeny online shop.
Still, games and gimmicks are coming in all shapes and sizes, and it's definitely worth keeping an eye on what goes in the goodie bag this year. By the time a Doom Eternal sequel rolls around, we imagine you'll be able to play the OG on a whole host of weird devices. For now, a chocolate bar is the most imaginative.
