Just when you didn't think the relationship between Warzone and Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm IV could get any worse, the YouTuber has claimed that not even a multi-billion dollar corporation like Microsoft could save the battle royale game.
Once upon a time, Dr Disrespect was one of the most passionate Warzone players out there and no matter how often he strayed to other games, he always returned. However, following the Caldera map update, the Doc has had nothing but bad words to say about the game. He's even nearly uninstalled the game on a number of occasions.
Then, came the announcement that Warzone's developer, Activision, had officially been bought by Microsoft. This caused many to wonder what this could mean for Call Of Duty games and whether there could be a brighter future ahead for Warzone. Well, according to Dr Disrespect, not on your nelly.
What Did Dr Disrespect Say About Warzone?
During his livestream of Warzone on January 24, Dr Disrespect went into another scathing rant about the game and the various issues he has with the battle royale about 4 hours and 39 minutes into his stream. The YouTuber claimed that the game's core loops, designs, and balance are now all "broken" and are near-impossible to resolve. He continued: "Even the game's engine is outdated! It's a wrap, really. The game is a wrap! Holy sh*t, it's done."
However, more than anything, the Doc claimed he had one particular issue with the game. Sure, Caldera may have been created to appease Warzone fans and replace the well-beloved Verdansk map. But for Dr Disrespect, new updates to the game, such as Caldera, have caused it to lose its CoD charm. He explained: "It's supposed to be this over-the-top blockbuster arcade game you can pop into, start playing and have fun with. It's high rep. I'm not getting that feeling. I'm falling asleep playing this game."
Can Microsoft Save Warzone?
It's still early days since the explosive announcement that Microsoft had bought Activision for a whopping $70 billion on January 18, leaving many to wonder whether the CoD games could be on the way to getting the Phil Spencer makeover. Although, Dr Disrespect has claimed that not even a gaming giant like Microsoft could change Warzone's fate. During his frustration-fuelled rant, the Doc screamed: "Your game sucks! Microsoft won't save you. It won't!"
Just exactly when Dr Disrespect will finally throw in the Warzone towel is still unclear. It may be a while before we get to see some Microsoft pizazz in the game, but whether the Doc will wait around to see it remains to be seen.
