Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is coming this year, and that's not all
The long-awaited launch of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake finally has a date, but alongside that arrived the announcement of the complete Endrick Trilogy, with subsequent HD-2D remakes of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 coming at a later date.
Modernisation is at the heart of these remakes, as the first three games released nearly four decades ago have all received a stunning visual refresh in the HD-2D style we have become familiar with since Octopath Traveler.
November release confirmed for Dragon Quest 3 Remake
The most recent trailer revealed at the June 2024 Nintendo Direct has finally given us a release date for Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, as it's now set to launch on November 14, 2024.
News didn't just stop there though, as we're also getting similar complete remakes of the first two games in the series as well, which are scheduled to come at a later date in 2025.
It's certainly looking like a great time to be a JRPG fan, as both long-time Dragon Quest fans and those looking to dive into the series as a newbie can enjoy the classic adventure action that all three games in the Endrick Trilogy provide.
Remakes stun in HD-2D style
Of course, one of the most immediate refinements in these new remakes is the art style, showcasing stunning and shimmering visuals while preserving the 2D-pixel approach of the originals.

There also continues a mix of preservation and modernisation in the classic turn-based combat, as Square Enix has ensured that the general approach remains the same but with spruced-up animations, speed-up options, and an auto-battle setting. If it's anything like the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters then we're in for an absolute treat!
