Already, EA FC 24 has thrown up some special event cards that are taking over Ultimate Team. Evolutions, POTM, Flashbacks, and the NIKE Mad Ready pre-release event have begun a trend of nabbing high-rated cards to add to the full-gold teams that players are relying on at the moment.
And more promos are set to arrive thick and fast, including some rather classic ones such as the European competition cards in the Road to the Knockouts (featuring the Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League teams).
Yet in the announced lineup of promo cards to come, fans have quickly noticed that one reliable annual special card is not present.
Ultimate Team fans notice the Ones to Watch promo has been axed in EA FC 24
We all love a good promo and the juiced cards that come with them, but one of the more beloved special cards comes in the form of the progressive Ones to Watch players.
This promo has been running for years and adds that Career Mode and Fantasy Football feeling of watching your players grow throughout the year, should they be performing in real life. But this year, it looks like Ones to Watch has been axed.
In a confirmed listing of upcoming promotes, fans noticed that Ones to Watch cards will not be coming in the first handful of weeks in EA FC 24, and given that they are normally rolled out right at the start of the Ultimate Team yearly cycle, it's likely that they won't be coming at all.
Maybe this might be a result of Evolutions, which is another way of boosting your team with progressive players, but it will come as a shame to players who like to invest their success with their favourite on-pitch players.
What future EA FC 24 promos are we getting?
According to RealSport101, on September 18, EA FC 24 was confirmed to have End of an Era, Flashback, Showdown, Team of the Week, Dynamic Duos, Player Moments, and Squad Foundations cards coming in the early stages of the Ultimate Team year.
Already, we've had Flashback Kevin De Bruyne among other player SBC and Objective cards.
But for the hungrier fans, the next promo will be the Road to the Knockout cards and following that will likely be Centurians and even Winter Wildcards.
Future promos have also been confirmed at some point, such as Rulebreakers and Future Stars, the latter of which is always a fan favourite. But it seems like Ones to Watch has been left with the FIFA era, and EA FC 24 will have to replace it with something more up its street.
