EA FC 24 branded a ‘failure’ after troubled launch
When EA FC 24 launched on 29 September, it was not met with the fanfare that EA likely expected for the first title since the major FIFA rebrand. Game-breaking bugs and glitches have been commonplace since the titles launch, and many players have dubbed the game a complete failure just a week after it was released.

When EA FC 24 launched on 29 September, it was not met with the fanfare that EA likely expected for the first title since the major FIFA rebrand.
Game-breaking bugs and glitches have been commonplace since the titles launch, and many players have dubbed the game a complete failure just a week after it was released.
Players are not happy with how the EA FC 24 rebrand has gone
As part of the rebrand of the beloved FIFA franchise, EA has brought a lot of new features into the game, including female players on mixed teams, a new career experience and Ultimate Team™ Evolutions.
Alongside these new features came several glitches and bugs which have made the game almost unplayable for some players.
EA FC 24 developers have already had to release an update to fix UI bugs which made it nearly possible to outbid players on the transfer market and prevented people from accessing certain parts of the menu in Ultimate Team.
On Reddit, u/UtopianInterdiction wrote: “Imagine you were EA and you were faced with probably the most important launch of a sports title in your company's history.
“The first year without the official FIFA brand on the most popular sports franchise in your company's portfolio. Presumably with more money to spend on developing the game because you didn't have to spend millions on the FIFA licence.
“An opportunity - and a challenge - of proving to gamers that your football gaming title is still the go-to title in the industry and worth their hard earned money.
“And you release a game that is full of game breaking bugs and glitches, along with quite possibly the worst content over the first two weeks of UT in the last 10 years.
“This is an absolute failure on all levels.”
Some players blame laziness due to lack of competition and profit-chasing for the games faults
Reddit users in the EA Sports FC Subreddit were quick to agree, saying that EA were lazy and didn’t need to put too much effort in given the lack of competition.
One person commented: “On one hand though you're EA and you know there's no other competition other than eFootball so why put the effort in?”
“Yeah unfortunately they make more than enough money and there’s no real competition in the market so they can neglect the game and still make crazy profits,” replied another.
Some users think EA will only care about the state of the game if they are not profiting heavily from it.
“You and EA do not measure success and failure by the same rubric,” commented one Reddit user. “Guarantee they’re making insane profits. There have been $20-$30 packs in the store since release and people eat that shit up.
“FC24 is a massive success for them. If the profits weren’t there, they might actually care about the issues you’ve listed. They do just enough to keep that FC point money rolling in.”
