Now that we're a few weeks into EA FC 24, the mud has been wiped off our boots on the welcoming mat and dirtied again on the playing fields.

We've gotten over the hype of building starter teams and opening the first wave of packs from SBCs, and now players are knuckling down on getting to grips with the meta.

But many players are now feeling cheated into buying FC Points as the game disagrees with "grinders" and the new market makes coin-bartering impossible.

With promos in full swing now, players have begun to find that the more expensive teams are getting through the divisions quicker, with the higher-rated cards having different Playstyle traits, and they are being out-priced for those who don't spend money on the game.

One avid gamer drew comparisons from EA FC 24 to RPGs, where the Rivals leaderboard echoed the progress of games such as Read Dead Redemption 2 and The Witcher, but this year, progression beyond a certain point is impossible thanks to the market.

"I’ve played the FIFA series seriously the last 3 years and right now, for me, the EA UT economy in-game feels broken," one fan said on Reddit in a popular thread, talking about how you must spend money to get good cards.

"89 cards are basically extinct. 90s are up 100%. Essentially, the market is telling us that the price of these SBCs doesn’t match what a dedicated grinder of the game should have," they continued.

"There really isn’t a credible way of gathering more fodder. The weekly upgrade packs (80+) are severely devalued in the 24 economy."

EA FC 24 fans ask for better progression methods

With these issues, players are now calling for an update to the market and economy in EA FC 24.

"The task of getting the fodder looks so daunting that I considered spending $20 for the store pack. I know that’s what EA wants me to do, and even then I still considered it. Which, in my insignificant and humble opinion, means the current in-game economy is broken," the user continued.

But as far as a solution goes, FC 24 might be in the mud.

The user pointed out that you shouldn't have to play "Stock-Market FC" either to get coins (trading habits by watching dipped values in cards).

Instead, EA FC 24 should revisit their pricing of SBCs or even consider inflating the reward possibilities within packs that can be earned in-game, rather than push players to spend their cash on FC points just to gain some good old-fashioned fodder.
