FIFA is being left behind as the newly-rebranded EA FC 24 is being rolled out this week, where the Ultimate Team grind will restart and Pro Clubs will be reinvigorated with crossplay.

But with this new era coming into play, and a wealth of new features, one stalwart part of the Ultimate Team process has been axed, and fans are a little bit peeved.

The usual Welcome Back Packs which rewarded loyalty for playing past FIFA games have been scrapped, and instead, EA will give out new "pointless" Founders Packs are being added instead.

EA FC 24 adds Founder Packs with no Ultimate Team players

Welcome Back Packs were gifted to players for their years of loyalty to the football game series, which has passed a decade of annual titles with Ultimate Team as a game mode.

However, EA FC 24 will instead reward players with "Founder Packs" containing a wealth of consumable items, including kits, badges, and stadium decorations, but no players.

Usually, the loyalty packs contain high-rated players that allow you to move on from the basic non-rare and bronze starter players that you begin with.

Given that EA FC 24 has also reneged on its decision to offer tradeable rewards for the starter SBCs and made them untradeable, there doesn't seem much property coming to players at the start of Ultimate Team this year.

EA FC 24 fans slam Founders Packs

With the launch of the EA FC 24 Web App on September 20, fans have now been left confused as to how on earth they can make any progress on the game before its full release.

"What’s the point of web app if there's no welcome packs? What they expect people to do just stare at their screen," one fan said.

Another added, "So grateful I spend a lot of money on this game every year and get rewards with a couple tifos, badges and kits I’ll never use or see ever again."

There is some hope for EA FC 24 fans though as the Pre-Season rewards will arrive two weeks after launch, where they could make up for lost time.
