Being the Tarnished can be a tiring task, as you make your way across the colossal Lands Between, cross blades with various demigods and monsters, and try to restore some form of order to the realm. We're not surprised you'll get hungry on your journey, and when not eating a Pickled Turtle Neck or trying to drink whatever is in Alexander the Pot Guy, it's hard to grab a snack.
In typical FromSoftware style, Elden Ring is a warped world from the mind of Hidetaka Miyazaki. Despite being in a fantasy land of FromSoftware's creation, there are a few Easter eggs to the developer's past and the real world. However, did Miyazaki really sneak a Pizza Hut into the Lands Between?
Is Pizza Hut In Elden Ring?
Over on Reddit, u/DSquariusGreeneJR thinks they've spotted a familiar-looking building that should have you salivating. Lurking in the fiery Volcano Manor, there's a building that bears a striking resemblance to the signature roof shape of Pizza Hut. Even if you've never stepped inside one, you know classic Pizza Huts featured the hat-like shape.
In just 24 hours, the post received over 50k upvotes, showing there's a lot of love for the American chain restaurant. Even though most modern Pizza Hut outlets have ditched the roof due to their urban locations, you can spot an old Pizza Hut a mile off. There's a whole subreddit called r/FormerPizzaHuts where you can see how these old buildings have been remodelled into everything from a church to a Domino's Pizza - what sacrilege.
Others loved the potential spot out there in Elden Ring. One wannabe George R.R. Martin joked: "Pizza Manor tried to kill the Hut, and so it was stricken to the ground. In their rage and persecution, they created the order of the recrusted: Assassins sent out to devour the pepperonis of fellow tarnished." Another added, "The first Pizza Hut was in Kansas. This has to be it," leading to that weird debate again on whether the Lands Between is based on Ohio.
What Other Secrets Is Elden Ring Hiding?
Remembering that the Volcano Manor questline makes you skip most of this area, it might explain why this potential Pizza Hut has sat undiscovered for so long. Speaking of hidden areas, it wasn't long ago that someone managed to bust into the game's locked colosseums. Inside, they found a lion-like gladiator NPC and a tease of a potential DLC or multiplayer area.
Sadly FromSoft isn't ready to reveal what's on the way yet. At least we know Bandai Namco is keen to "expand" the Elden Ring story, so we're holding out hopes for an Overcooked-inspired DLC where the Tarnished gets a job working at a busy Pizza Hut. Well, we already have the Burger King guys. Either way, a slice of stuffed crust definitely sounds better than munching some Holyproof Dried Liver.
