FromSoftware is already slashing the price of Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, but the catch is that the discounted rate is only available for one platform.

After what seems like an eternity of waiting, Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is fast approaching. To commemorate it growing ever closer, FromSoftware has released a new story trailer. Some fans don't really get it, but they don't need to - all they need to know is that they'll be chopping baddies with new swords.

It's a compelling look at the DLC as a pack that expands The Lands Between and welcomes players into a new era for the game. Even though its pricing is more competitive for players, there's a chance for you to bag it a bit cheaper.

Shadow of the Erdtree is already reduced - if you know where to look

A wicker giant editing constant flames walks across a field in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

It's shocking to see, but there are already sites offering discounted access to Shadow of the Erdtree before it even has the chance to release, but it could be good news for you if you intend to get started on day one.

Trusted PC code site Fanatical has shared a Shadow of the Erdtree discount that brings the standard edition of the expansion from $39.99/£34.99 down 12% to $35.19/£30.79. The DLC’s premium bundle drops the same percentage from $49.99/£42.99 to $43.99/£37.83.

The obvious catch here is that the price is only being offered to players engaging with the game on PC via Steam. As a lot of us picked up the 2022 action-rpg on PlayStation and Xbox, it's a bummer that they'll have to pay more to enjoy Shadow of the Erdtree.

While it's not a huge reduction, it could make it more useful to preorder rather than buy on the day of launch and get you into the secrets that await you as soon as possible. It might be a struggle to make sense of the bizarre world of Elden Ring, but if you want to be among the first to try, then your opportunity has presented itself.
