Rocket Launchers have quickly become the meta in Modern Warfare 3. Partly thanks to a crazy glitch which has made RPGs fully automatic, and partly thanks to the fact that EOD is completely broken and explosives will rip through players like a bad curry.

EOD, better known as Flak Jacket in previous titles, is supposed to prevent a grenade or launcher from killing you in one explosion, minimising the maximum damage you can take. But in Modern Warfare 3, the EOD jacket is completely useless, and a simple cross-map 'nade can send you packing.

Until now. Sledgehammer is investigating a fix.

This year, Flak Jacket is an option to equip in the Gear option, where you will be able to find EOD Padding, described to "reduce damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire".

However, Sledgehammer Games has now admitted that this perk has not been working as intended.

Taking to social media and their public Trello board, Sledgehammer confessed "EOD Padding Gear is not properly mitigating explosive damage," and promised to fix the issue promptly.

And promptly they are...

EOD is now fixed in Modern Warfare 3

In rapid action, Sledgehammer Games has released a hotfix for the perk, returning it to its former glory.

"We've deployed a fix for the EOD Padding Gear. This Perk will now properly mitigate incoming explosive damage to players," they said on social media.

This hotfix shows just how keen Sledgehammer was to fix this issue and nerf the Rocket Launcher meta which has been plaguing objective-based game mode for weeks, as they could have waited until Season 1 in a mere few days time where there will be an abundance of other tweaks to the title and a wealth of more content.

For now though, you're safe to re-equip EOD Padding and never have to fear a grenade again - even the ones you throw and bounce back...
