Even Cars Have Killcams In Modern Warfare 2

It looks like a Modern Warfare 2 easter egg is letting players watch themselves get hit by cars at incredible speeds.

Cars have become a bit of an antagonist in Modern Warfare 2. It's entirely unintentional, but it turns out that cars are killing perhaps as many players as other players are. The new Santa Seña Border Crossing map is proof of this.

The maligned map is simply a closed-off area of stand-still traffic, with cars detonating easily and killing players before they have the chance to take a step. It seems like the cheeky cars run beyond this, too, as one map sees speeding cars see off players with their own killcams.

Modern Warfare 2's Cars Have Their Own Killcams

Not only are the exploding cars doing Modern Warfare 2 fans dirty - it turns out that racecars tearing up the Crown Raceway are being just as sly.

It has been discovered that if you end up under its wheels, you'll be greeted with a pretty speedy killcam. Even though being killed by the racecars themselves is pretty rare, it's a strange occurrence. The feature was first discovered by Twitter user TheyCalledMeProphet in a video shared to the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit.

We see the player hop over a barrier to stand on the racetrack - waiting for the car to bolt around the corner. When it does, it sends the player flying into the sky and shows off a killcam that follows the car around the track before it plunges into them. It's a fun little easter egg for sure - but some players have theorised that it wasn't always designed this way.

Fans Think The Racecars In Crown Raceway Were A Bigger Deal

It has been theorised in the comments of the Reddit post that the killcams - which probably took some work to program - aren't just an easter egg, but were once a more immersive part of how the map worked. "It was originally a licensed real-world racetrack," says one comment. "My guess is that if they did intend to have the cars run people over F1 had said no. Could also be the reason for the name change."

It's an interesting theory, and one that makes a lot of sense given that we've had some legal troubles surrounding the Marina Bay Grand Prix map- but either way, we'll be throwing ourselves in front of racecars for the foreseeable future in case you need us. We'd like to reiterate, please don't do this in real life.
