FromSoftware
FromSoftware, you devilish developers, can you please give us a break? If you've picked up Elden Ring by now, you'll know that literally everything in the Lands Between is against you. Whether it's sex toy-inspired centipedes or supersized rats, even the sheep are willing to run you down to trigger the "You Died" screen. Now, it turns out the walls in Elden Ring are also hiding a dark secret.
Elden Ring will reward you for exploration, and while it can be frustrating to wander into an OP area while ill-equipped, the lack of signposts means you're free to explore this rich realm at your leisure without having to go straight to Margit. Curiosity can quite literally kill the cat, but if you know where to look, you can reap the rewards of Elden Ring.
What's The Deal With Walls In Elden Ring?
This fantasy favourite is littered with illusionary walls that usually take a quick strike with your sword to break open. However, it turns out there's at least one that'll require a bit more work, with this one taking a whopping 50 hits to fall.
Over on Reddit, one user shared the footage of this seemingly unbreakable wall, only for it to fall after 50 hits. It was apparently discovered on a Taiwanese forum before being shared with the wider world. This particular wall can be found in Volcano Manor, but sadly, it only serves as a quick way to get between rooms.
Others have pointed out there are multiple walls like this in the area, with the number of hits depending on what weapon you use. Presumably shaking their head in horror, one person wrote: "This video is the greatest and most heinous iteration of 'hidden path ahead' now instead of hitting every wall once, I have to go hit every wall 50 times."
Is Every Elden Ring Wall Against You?
Obviously, it would be ridiculous to assume every wall in Elden Ring can be downed with the strike from your blade, but it definitely has us questioning how many more are out there. Giving us some serious paranoia, FromSoftware now has players wandering around the Lands Between and looking like a bunch of fools as they randomly wallop walls like a glitched NPC.
Some are questioning whether the 50-hit wall is a bug that will eventually be patched out, but then again, wouldn't the devs want you to think that? It's true that there's no real need for this wall to reveal a path to an area you can access via normal means, so we're suitably stumped on this one. Bravo FromSoftware, you've managed to get in our heads with a demonic detail we'd never have thought of.
