Some of us feared that this day would never come, but five years after work on this total conversion Fallout mod started work, Fallout: London is finally here. We've been keeping a close eye on Fallout: London, but after worries it had been booted back to Blighty, Team FOLON is proudly hoisting the Union Jack.

While there are plenty of Fallout 4 mods out there, few have the ambitious scope of Fallout: London. Giving us the franchise's first visit to the United Kingdom, the massive mod is the same size as the base Fallout 4 Commonwealth and Far Harbour, promising plenty of content for this Britain-based expansion.

Fallout: London fans call for a console release

Fallout: London is finally out from today (July 25) and is available via GOG.com. As you might've guessed, this makes Fallout: London a PC-only release, locking console players out of the party. Even though it looks great, fans already have a major request.

Making things complicated, Team FOLON had to apply a downgrade to get Fallout: London up and running. This was due to the new-gen Fallout 4 update, which Bethesda dropped as a surprise and "screwed" the project. Anyone who owns Fallout 4 and its DLC content can play, aside from those who purchased via Epic Games because it doesn't support rollbacks.

As for it being PC-only, the announcement trailer has proved there's more than an appetite for a console release. Despite Fallout 76 continuing to release content updates, we've starved of Fallout content. Amazon's live-action series has reinvigorated its fandom, while we're warned Fallout 5 is likely years away

The response to the video was full of players asking whether Fallout: London is coming to console or those lamenting the fact that there's no news on a mythical console port. The mod's official site reiterates that there are currently no plans for a PlayStation or Xbox release, meaning PC players are sitting pretty here.

It's definitely a possibility, and only recently, Project Lead Dean Carter discussed the idea with Metro. Although Carter said that it's up to Bethesda, Team FOLON team is hopeful for a console release: "What we want is to speak to a decision-maker, because if we could make it a standalone thing with their [Bethesda’s] permission, that means that people on gaming consoles could use it, which they currently can’t."

There's a lot of love for Fallout: London, with someone concluding, "Fallout London just got released after Bethesda made an update that killed the original mod launch and it’s better than anything Bethesda has released in the last decade." Either way, PC players are eating well in 2024.
