It seems that Fallout: London has an unexpected message about safe sex, telling us to 'wrap up' in the long-awaited total immersion mod for Fallout 4. While Bethesda's Todd Howard has warned the official Fallout games will likely never leave the USA, it's over to ambitious modders like Team FOLON to make it a reality.

We once feared that Fallout: London would never crawl out of the River Thames after the team admitted the new-gen Fallout 4 update "screwed" its release, but finally, we got to hoist the flag above Buckingham Palace on July 25. It's clear this is a very different game to the Americana of Bethesda's Fallout, and with it, some 'unique' differences have appeared.

Fallout: London has a unique use for condoms

As spotted on the Fallout: London subreddit, the item known as Jimmy Hats provides +20 Rad Resist. For those who haven't got the joke, Jimmy Hats are hats for your 'Jimmy', which is slang for a man's, erm, member. So, next time you're on the radiation-infected streets of London, think about sticking on a condom.

Someone else pointed out how Jimmy Hats aren't exclusive to Fallout: London, with the item appearing in Black Isle Studios' Fallout 2. They were used for a more traditional reason back then, with Fallout 2's Jimmy Hats stopping you from getting NPCs pregnant during intercourse. The red ones were even a cinnamon bun flavour.

Given that your standard Vault jumpsuit only provides +10 Radiation Resistance in the main Fallout 4, it seems Jimmy Hats are a useful bit of kit to carry around in case of emergency. When one gamer suggested you could use Jimmy Hats to get down and dirty with a Ghoul, someone else replied, "New kink discovered, putting my jimmy in radiated stuff."

Another fan joked, "Best to stock up now everyone. Just in case. If the girlfriend asks why you've got 200 stocked, you're just taking precautions haha," and a third said, "I was not familiar with the term 'Jimmy hat'. Now that I think about it, I can see how one would come up with this name......but when I first saw them, I thought they were single round cookies in colored plastic wrapping 💀"

We'd politely suggest you don't go around trying to eat Fallout: London's Jimmy Hats, but this clever joke shows just how invested in expanding the world's lore the team is. Fallout: London is already a fan-favourite overhaul, but with its middling review scores due to a slew of bugs and glitches, we might let it stew for a bit longer before putting on our Jimmy Hats and hitting the mean streets of Laaaaandan.
