Ahh, remember when the Gulag was the best thing since sliced bread? What a time to be alive.
When the Gulag was first introduced, battle royale fans lost their minds. Warzone brought together everything that harnessed a true 1v1 gunfight and put a stake on the line in a way that no other title had ever thought of. Genius.
Now though, they've changed a winning recipe, and instead of baking a masterpiece, they've gone and overcooked it.
Warzone 2 Players Demand Gulag change
Much like adding peanut butter, maple syrup, chocolate chips, ice cream, and whipped cream on top of a perfectly good blueberry pancake, the Gulag is now a sloppy and saucy mess, meaning you're only going to be left with a stomach ache by the time you've killed the jailer.
It's no surprise that players want a change... Taking to Reddit, one fan has now demanded that Infinity Ward revert back to a 1v1 format. The OP pleaded that they are, "Tired of having my chances of winning 50% dependent on if my teammate has a brain."
They added, "It's not a 'skill issue' I just don't want to have to rely on someone else. And yes I usually win, but I just want the normal system that worked for years. What was wrong with that?"
Warzone 2 Players Conspire That The New Gulag Is A Way To Carry Bots
Some also claim that the new teammate-reliant Gulag is based solely on the hypothesis that lower-skilled players will be able to get carried by the better ones and therefore increase their chances of returning from the dead without the hefty buy-back fee.
"I am convinced they changed it to normalize gulag win rates. People that had 85% or higher probably have a bit lower now and people who literally could never win probably win sometimes now," one player theorised on Reddit.
On the contrary, if you're as good as you think you are, these changes shouldn't be a problem as you'll win anyway, but who doesn't love kicking your feet up and letting someone else do the dirty work for once?
