It's about time that the Call of Duty fan base can unanimously settle on a title of the recent generation that could break into the top-five titles of the franchise.

Competitive fans might have eyed Black Ops Cold War as the best CoD since Black Ops 3, but casuals hated it and much preferred Modern Warfare 2019 - which was arguably the best 'sentinel' game yet worst competitive title ever.

For years, both sets of fans have been split in their love-and-hate views on Call of Duty. Now, we're heading into dangerous territory with Modern Warfare 2, and fans have had their say on what features could make it one of the best games ever.

Fans Detail Features That Will Make MW2 Great

Following the early build played during the beta, Infinity Ward has already detailed a few changes coming to Modern Warfare 2, including a well-needed third-person mode rework.

However, fans have identified three main features that could propel MW2 into the CoD Mount Rushmore. Taking to social media, fans claimed that unsuppressed red dots on the mini-map, a Ninja perk, and a slightly higher TTK would be enough to start chiselling the MW2 name into the stone.

"Ninja perk reducing footstep audio range and volume by 60% - 70% or this reduction by default. The game would be actually enjoyable and not insanely boring if they reduced the footstep audio like this", one popular comment said.

What Do Fans Want In Modern Warfare 2?

Aside from the odd call for skill-based matchmaking to be softened - although a ranked playlist will come into play from launch to tempt in the sweats - TTK balancing is the most sought-after change to MW2.

Red dots on the mini-map will be allowed in customs and ranked, but TTK can only be changed by the developers, and fans already feel like they died way too quickly in the beta. "Raise the TTK Everything else will work itself out from there," one other popular comment said.

With MW2 having many of the fundamentals to be an all-time great CoD, Infinity Ward could have quite a monster on their hands if they put their ears to the ground.
