Gaming and mainstream sports seldom cross lines and often compete with each other to grab the audience's attention in their spare time, however, ahead of one of the worlds most gripping sports events of the year, FaZe Clan and the NFL have teamed up to make a touchdown of their own.

As Odell Beckham Jr. looks to intercept the Bengals' surge towards NFL greatness at the Superbowl LVI, and get his hands on his first Vince Lombardi trophy, the part-time gamer will also be met with some of esports' most recognisable faces. FaZe Clan and NFL have announced an official partnership before the February 13 clash of the titans.

FAZE CLAN AND NFL ANNOUNCE SUPERBOWL LVI CONTENT SERIES

Having first partnered in 2019, FaZe Clan and the NFL are continuing their relationship with a content series based on the upcoming Superbowl LVI match between Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams.

The two brands will kick things off with a charity flag football event to celebrate the championship bout, with FaZe Clan members Thomas "Temperrr" Oliveira, Alexander "Adapt" Pinkevich, Kris "Swagg" Lamberson, Nathan "Nate Hill" Hill, and Kaysan "Kaysan" Ghasseminejad going up against the former NFL stars Michael Vick and Brette Favre, and their team of celebrities.

Ian Trombetta, Senior VP, Social, Influencer & Content Marketing at the NFL said, "Gaming continues to be a core pillar within the broader NFL strategy, and we are excited to announce a joint marketing initiative with FaZe Clan that will kick off with a co-branded flag football game at this year’s Super Bowl Experience presented by Lowe’s.

"In addition, our enhanced relationship will include first-ever activations and initiatives throughout the 2022-2023 season aimed at engaging our casual Gen Z fans."

The news draws the NFL world and gaming closer again, a pattern that also seems to be emerging through popular titles such as Epic Games' duo of Fortnite and Rocket League. Superbowl line-back Odell Beckham Jr. already has an in-game skin within Fortnite, whilst Philladelhia Eagles' Boston Scott will be able to enjoy his new Dignitas RL professional contract as the soccar title brings back the NFL playlist.

FaZe Clan and NFL will also produce more unconfirmed content before the first punt on Sunday, where we'll likely see some media duties come into play for the stars of the hour.
