There's drama at the FaZe Clan house, as former favourite Frazier "Kay" Khattri has drawn his battle lines in the midst of allegations about cryptocurrency scams. Now, FaZe Kay has delivered a cease and desist the YouTuber that first broke the story.
There's a dark cloud hanging over the FaZe Clan house, with the crypto chaos ripping through it. Kay has been stripped of his part in the content creating house, while Jarvis Khattri (Kay's brother), Nikan, and Teeqo have all been temporarily suspended. The big four have been accused of pushing a crypto token called "Save the Kids", with the influencers claiming 1% of each $KIDS token trade fee would go to charity.
Kay and co. have been accused of creating an influencer "pump-and-dump" scam, however, he's not holding back and aims to expose YouTuber Coffeezilla, who made the allegations.
What has FaZe Kay said about the crypto allegations
In the cease and desist sent to Coffeezilla, Kay's lawyers wrote, "The lawsuit will seek compensatory and punitive damages for, among other causes of action, defamation and intentional interference with contract and prospective economic advantages. Among other damages, your false statements have caused FaZe to terminate Mr. Khattri's relationship with it and Mr. Khattri may, as a result, lose millions of dollars in revenue, not to mention the reputational damage that you have already caused".
Coffeezilla shared his surprise at the letter online and vowed not to remove any videos relating to Kay and the rest of FaZe Clan. Doubling down on his supposed evidence, Coffeezilla uploaded another video that responded to the letter in detail and levelled more evidence against FaZe Kay.
"Apparently I am getting sued for millions of dollars", said Coffeezilla on July 13. "My conscience is clean, I will happily fight this in court. This lawsuit is a tactic to silence the new evidence that is coming out about Kay. He knows the kinds of things I have on him, and he knows it because I have been asking him for comment, and he hasn't been responding. Apparently, he has been prepping his lawyers to come at me instead".
What's next for Faze Kay and Coffeezilla?
Coffeezilla was given 24 hours to remove all offending articles, but said in his follow-up, "I'm gonna miss the deadline, boys". Continuing his campaign against FaZe Kay, Coffeezilla went on to link Kay and other FaZe clan members to promoting "MoonPug" - which is apparently tied to Kay's public wallet. Here, Coffeezilla maintained that FaZe Kay made $100,000 within just a few hours of selling "MoonPug".
As it stands, FaZe Kay claims he was "scammed" by Save The Kids. Telling fans not to believe everything they read or hear online, he asked people to come forward with any evidence. Finally, Kay said he's hired a team that will conduct a "very thorough, independent, and aggressive investigation to find out exactly what happened" with Save the Kids.
There are plenty who have called out Coffeezilla and have made their own claims about him, however, he's recently worked with fellow YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamer to clear Teeqo's name by looking into his crypto wallet. While it looks like Teeqo could be in the clear, things are destined to get worse before/if they get any better for FaZe Kay. With Coffeezilla locking horns with the former FaZer, it remains to be seen who comes out on top.
