FC 25 Lag

The aim of the game is quite literally fast-flowing football. FC 25's new IQ system is supposed to have us all playing a combination of Pep's tiki taka and Klopp's full-throttle gegenpressing, but there's nothing pressing about the game so far.

That is the case for most players, as the menus and the in-game buttons appear to move at the same pace as Casemiro... slow.

But, there's a way around the button lag, and players have been left baffled as to why this feature even exists.

FC 25 players find a way to remove button lag

In FC 25, players have been reporting that the pace of the menus and gameplay is as if there is button lag, and that's because the game has a setting called "Reaction Time Modifier".

The feature delays the buttons that you press, specifically the player swap indicator (L1 or LB), although it may have leaked into other areas of the game.

Turning off this feature reportedly vastly improves the speed of the menus as well as your button-bashing in-game.

The setting is automatically activated for all players, leaving them to claim it is "the most EA thing ever".

Other players have found that changing the graphics mode continues to prevent delay and lag, as switching over to Favour Resolution will prioritise performance over display.

"That's why the game feels so f**king awful for me," one player said.

Another fan added, "I can't believe that, this is [an] EA masterclass."

There are some uses to the feature, and the slider can be beneficial towards the lower end of the spectrum, but while players are reporting that it also affects the menus, it's not worth having on.

FC 25's Early Access hasn't been smooth so far an a lot of bugs have left the title feeling "unfinished", but the year is still young.
