Are you ready to get up close and personal with Peely, Jonesy, and Evie? Rumours of a first-person Fortnite have never really gone away, and as Call of Duty continues to dominate the market with Warzone, could Epic Games take influence from its rival battle royale behemoth?
Part of what has set Fortnite apart from the CoDverse is the decision to go for a third-person viewpoint instead of the gritty and boots-on-the-ground aesthetic of something like Warzone. Both are known for selling skins, but when it comes to Fortnite making bank on its crossovers, it makes sense you can see your skins.
First-person Fortnite could be on the way
First Person coming to Fortnite next chapter.

According to a rather sketchy leak on Reddit, a first-person Fortnite could be on the way for Chapter 4 Season 4. A slew of screenshots show a seemingly early build of a first-person Fortnite, suggesting that even if this is the real deal, it still needs a lot of work.
Chapter 4 Season 3 is tipped to end on August 25, meaning there isn't long to get things up and running. It definitely looks like a first-person Fortnite, but with it being relatively easy to build something like this in Creative, we might've been fooled all over again.
There were plenty of sceptics, with one fan grumbling, "Meh I'll believe it when I see it. Leakers have been saying first person has been coming for years at this point." Another added, "Might be fun in creative and other modes. I just can't see anyone using it vs people in 3rd person." It seems not everyone is a fan.
A third pointed out, "Leakers have been saying 'Next season!' ofc it's not ready till it's ready, but it's been almost 5-6 months since it has been 'leaked.'" This isn't the first time we've reported on a first-person Fortnite, with supposed leakers being adamant it was on the way for Chapter 3 Season 4 and Chapter 4 Season 2.
First-person Fortnite makes a lot of sense
Much like PUBG being played in first or third-person, Fortnite could make the most of both markets. This wouldn't be the first time Epic has added fan-favourite features and tried them out before making them permanent. You might remember No Build was a popular request, which is now a lot of people's default mode.
More recently, Fortnite cashed in on Apex Legends' success and tried out a Ranked mode. As both of these can easily be toggled off, it could be as easy as giving us a full-blown first-person mode in the Fortnite main menu, or even having it as a simple press of the button in-match like PUBG.
With a first-person Fortnite not exactly being a new concept - and us having been burned before - we'll wait for some more solid leaks that it's actually on the way. If the likes of iFireMonkey and HYPEX jump on the first-person train, then we'll start to get excited. Until then, consider us disgruntled.
