Ever since the GTA 6 trailer, there has been a palpable change in the gaming industry. It seems that everyone is excited for the future, and players are realising that the games they never thought would come to life can do so in pretty miraculous ways.
There's also a lot more of some dude on Twitter with a lot of face tats. The Florida Joker - a man who went viral as a typical "Florida Man" after his mugshot drew attention because of his extensive tattoos - claims he was referenced in the GTA 6 trailer.
Ever since, he's been threatening Rockstar Games with legal action unless he's paid handsomely for apparent use of his likeness. The developer doesn't seem to be bending to these demands, but now, Florida Joker claims he'll free the leaker who brought us here in the first place.
Florida Joker warns Rockstar that he'll break out the GTA 6 leaker
Well, it can't get much weirder now, so that's something. In a new video from Florida Joker to Rockstar Games, the man has now threatened that if he isn't compensated financially, he'll break the leaker responsible for 2022's huge GTA leak out of the psychiatric hospital he's been placed in since conviction.
Wearing a bib emblazoned with the words "GTA we gotta talk" (which we guess is his catchphrase now? Citation needed), Florida Joker addresses TikTok and specifically Rockstar Games - demanding $10 million dollars for his likeness appearing in the iconic trailer.
"You ain’t gonna lock me up, GTA," he says. "You ain’t gonna put me in no psych ward. Keep playing with me, I’m gonna break that kid out the psych ward right now." If this is in Florida Joker's skillset, we certainly don't know it - but either way, it's a pretty hefty claim.
Florida Joker thinks GTA had no publicity before him
Perhaps the most bizarre thing about Florida Joker's address is that he claims that GTA didn't have any publicity before the team chose to include a character that looked like him in its trailer, which is… pretty interesting.
"Stop playing with me," he says. "When did GTA ever make the news [before me]? Never." He says that he can't even eat pizza without being harassed, again turning to Rockstar for money.Â
The idea that Florida Joker is responsible for GTA's fame is a pretty easy claim to refute, but then again, Florida Joker has never suggested he's a fountain of knowledge. Somehow, we don't think Rockstar is going to pay his hefty ransom.
