While Warzone's integration into Urzikstan might not have reinvigorated the battle royale as we wanted it to, losing out in a popularity contest with Fortnite and THE FINALS, but that doesn't mean the new map hasn't been a success.
Existing players have found the new Warzone to be quite a comfortable new home, being the best of Verdansk and Al Mazrah combined. They've only really been complaining about one thing: footsteps. Now, a nice care package has come in Season 1, as the developers have finally fixed the audio.
Warzone developers address audio concerns in Season 1
Audio has always been an issue in the Call of Duty battle royale, with footsteps often being far too loud or far too quiet, sometimes over-encumbered by other noises like airstrikes and grenades.
But as of Warzone Urzikstan Season 1, the "third party" audio strings, like footsteps, have now been adjusted. Taking to social media, Raven Software revealed, "We’ve been actively listening to player feedback regarding audio concerns in Warzone, especially related to footsteps."
"This initial update is aimed at addressing part of these concerns and enhancing the overall experience before we head into the holidays."
Warzone developers ask for continued feedback on audio issues
Although Raven Software has now issued its statement on an audio fix, it eluded to the fact that this still might not be the perfect mix for everyone, taking into consideration how the team doesn't want audio to differ vastly between Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.
Apparently, the countless perks can also come into play when monitoring levels of sound. With this in mind, Raven has now called for "your continued constructive feedback," in order to maintain the right balance on "every front".
It might only be the first footstep in making audio perfect in Warzone, but it's a welcome forward movement, which will continue to be monitored.
