Even though we're having a lot of fun with the current Marvel madness of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, even the most die-hard fans will admit that we might never return to the highs that the game once delivered. Whether the comic book chaos of Chapter 2 Season 4 or Winter Wonderland of Chapter 1 Season 7, we're worried the best is behind us.
Chapter 5 has struggled to keep us engaged, and after the debacle of OP weapons in C5S3, there are similar complaints that C5S4 is relying too much on outlandish Mythics instead of actual skill.
A saviour could be on the horizon, with talk of another throwback season to restore our faith in the battle royale favourite.
Fortnite Chapter 2 OG apparently coming in 2024
You might remember the leaked Fortnite 2024 roadmap that apparently revealed everything on the way. Although we originally wrote it off as nonsense, it's already nailed the likes of the Pirates of the Caribbean crossover and the current Marvel season. Looking ahead, we should be getting another OG season before we head into Chapter in December.
Trusted leaker HYPEX claims that Chapter 2 OG is currently being tested ahead of its November launch. As many consider Chapter 4's OG season (taking us back to Chapter 1) as the 'best' the game has ever had, there are high hopes that Chapter 2 OG can continue this trend. Remembering Chapter 2 had some absolute bangers, we're excited to see what's to come.
Like the aforementioned Marvel season, Chapter 2 also gave us highs like the bounty hunter-themed C2S5, the aliens of C2S7, and got us in touch with our wild side for C2S6. Okay, so Chapter 2 Season 8 was a bit of a bust, but we'll let that slide. As the OG Chapter OG ended Chapter 4, it makes sense to do another one to cap off this chapter.
Loving the news, one fan cheered, "Gonna be a peak season," while another added, "This is going to be epic for sure…I can’t wait! 😍." A third concluded, "Oh my god, this is it. They're actually doing it! I have been waiting for this for ages, I thought the Marvel season would bring me back, but this is something I physically have to come back for."
Similar to the previous OG season, we expect each update of this shortened season to take us further through the chapter with returning POIs and iconic weapons. Yes, we really could be getting the Butter Barn back. Despite a typically shorter season (potentially running from November until December), it could be one hell of a way to round off this divisive chapter.
