Fortnite's current season is going down a treat with fans, but the changes that spread across the island happen so quickly that there's no real chance to get comfortable.

Perhaps that's what keeps players coming back - they're kept on their toes by Epic Games. The devs have added everything from grind rails to bouncy lily pads all over the place in a bid to make the game more fun. And it's working pretty nicely.

But, it looks like some brand new changes are coming to the colourful battle royale favourite that could uproot the entire map. We suggest you say goodbye to Mega City while you can.

Fortnite could have a brand-new map in Chapter 4 Season 3

According to one leaker, it looks like a desert theme is set to jump off the Battle Bus in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. They claim that huge changes will arrive alongside the next season, potentially even culminating in a brand-new map.

Leaker Wenso revealed on Twitter that Epic Games has added new files for palm trees and cacti in the most recent update, designed specifically with Chapter 4 in mind - pointing to a tropical or desert theme of sorts.

The textures found have been shared on Twitter in image and file form, indicating that this leak is pretty solid - but it does mean that there are very likely to be huge changes to the Chapter 4 Season 3 map. Considering we saw the snow melt after Christmas, a summer-themed map makes sense.

Is Fortnite about to replace its whole map?

Chances are, these new tropical and desert-themed items will simply be changing the aesthetic of the existing map instead of completely replacing it - but Epic Games have done madder things in the past. We can never say for sure that the chances of Fortnite building a new map from the ground up are zero.

All of the above fits with a previous datamine of surfboard vehicles, suggesting that we'll need to slap on the tanning lotion in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. If big changes are coming, then it might be worth jumping into the island in its current form while you're able to. If we lose the grind rails, we riot.
