We're now gearing up to say a fond farewell to the current season of Fortnite, and though there are naturally some fans who have choice words for its creators about the recent dump of content, it's been a fun time overall.

The return of augments has proved that it's a fluid addition to the way that the game actually works, and the chance to bounce around muddy wilds while taming actual dinosaurs can't possibly be a bad thing. Either way, it's time to say goodbye and welcome all-new content to the game for the umpteenth time.

Now, one leaker reckons they've got the scoop on some seriously game-changing features for Chapter 5, including the potential of Fortnite getting its own take on the self-revive ability.

Self-revives are on the way to Fortnite, claims leaker

As pointed out by Sportskeeda in a roundup of leaks, FortniteAPI.io developer GMatrixGames has taken to Twitter to claim that there are some pretty big additions to augments coming to Fortnite in the next chapter.

They claim that Augment Chests will be peppered around the map, and they'll deposit one of three different augments for players - increased shield, "siphon" ability, and the chance to reboot after death. Supposedly there will be more added later on.

They've recently added, though, that the time frame could be a little wonkier than initially expected. Regardless, it's an interesting suggestion, and one that fans might not instantly engage with. After all, if players start to revive in solo games, things could be about to get really trolly.

What else is on the way to Fortnite?

It may seem like overkill, but that's exactly what makes Fortnite Fortnite. Along with this massive update to augments, it has been claimed over and over again that Doctor Who will be getting an in-game collab with a mini Battle Pass for players to unlock rewards with.

The Doctor Who collab has reportedly been delayed, but there are plenty of other interesting additions to keep you busy. This includes the arrival of the dragon's breath shotgun, and even new movement mechanics that include wall-running. Yes, Epic could be giving Titanfall a run for its money.

Nothing is set in stone until it is revealed, but in the meantime, we can only hope that these absolutely bonkers overhauls will make their arrival in Fortnite Chapter 5...or even before.
