No matter what you think of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, you've got to admit that it's keeping us on our toes. Unlike the snoozefest of mythology that came with Chapter 5 Season 2, this Mad Max-inspired wasteland has really put the pedal to the metal.
With complaints that the grind for Fortnite XP is getting worse with each season, it makes those final infuriating quests even more laborious. Up there with the notorious "Have a Hired Follower Eliminate an Opponent" and "Land on the Train and Eliminate a Player Before you Disembark", the latest update has added another doozy.
Fortnite fans call Magneto Quest the game's worst yet
Amidst grumbles that some Fortnite quests are too easy, it seems the latest update has added what some are calling the "worst" quest in the game's history. That's quite an achievement, and if you want someone to throw blame at, Magneto is where you should be aiming your rage.
We knew the Master of Magnetism was coming to Chapter 5 Season 3 as its mid-point collab skin, and while he's relatively easy to unlock, not all of the Magneto quests are a fun romp across the Wasteland. You only have to complete three Page 1 quests to unlock Wastelander Mangeto, but Page 2 is where the real challenge is.
The quest "Block Hits using the Magneto Power" has been branded the game's 'worst' ever - having to use your Magneto Power and block 200 hits. Getting the Magneto Power in itself is a nightmare, with only one pair of gloves available per match, obtained from the man himself at Brawler's Battleground.
One disgruntled gamer wrote, "Sweats don't help either. I tried to help someone just before posting this. They had the shield, I unloaded all my bullets then used my pickaxe to get their quest done. When it was my turn, they dropped the gauntlets and then a superhero skin crashed the party and nitro-fisted me into space."
Fortnite fans have an easy way to beat Magneto's quests
Friendly fire counts, while others have been using NPCs to try and do it. Someone else suggested heading to Forecast Towers and getting the guards to shoot at you. That's all well and good, but with Chapter 5 Season 3 being so hectic, holding onto Magneto's gloves is a struggle in itself.
It seems the best workaround is to drop into Duos, try and grab the gloves, and then get your partner to melee Magneto's shield. While Magneto's gloves can be found around the map, it's all a game of chance. This might not be Fortnite's 'worst' quest ever, but it's pretty close.
