Up there with the theme of each season, the revamped map is one of Fortnite's big talking points. We've seen iconic POIs like Pleasant Park, Titled Towers, and the Daily Bugle come and go, and while Nitrodome has been a fun addition to Chapter 5 Season 3, we're ready for what comes next.
Like the highs of Chapter 2 Season 4, it looks like we're in for another Marvel-themed adventure, as a comic book caper is apparently just over the horizon. Doctor Doom is set to be the poster boy of Chapter 5 Season 4, and with it, could we see a return of Doom's Domain?
Fortnite fans think they've found the Chapter 5 Season 4 map
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is due to release on or around August 16, and while the leaks are soon set to start flowing in, things are being kept under wraps for now. Ironically. one fan thinks they've found the season's map, hiding in plain sight in the Weapon X bunker.
It all ties to the musings of Megalo Don, who mentions ripping the island apart. One of his voice lines says, "When my Leviathan is refuelled with Nitro, it will tear through the island with its teeth." The idea that the map will be literally ripped in half is an interesting one, and if you notice the bunker map, it looks like an island of two halves.
What this means is unclear, but with Doom being central in the Secret Wars comic and creating his own patchwork of realities known as Battleworld, we could see something similar play out here. If not, imagine if Chapter 5 Season 4 is heroes vs villains or Avengers vs X-Men. Either way, we're excited to see what Epic Games is cooking.
We've previously seen Fortnite play with duality, and you might remember when Chapter 3 Season 1 literally flipped the map. As Fortnite is known for sowing seeds ahead of time, it was always expected that some hints were out there on the map.
The Weapon X bunker also included a banana peel, leading to hopes of Peelverine and Deadpeel skins in Season 4. We're expecting all the usual Marvel POIs when the new season lands, and with less than two weeks left on the current one, the teasers are sure to be ramping up. We just hope our spandex still fits.
